Service-oriented vs. product-oriented tech firms for new grads

Considering companies varying in scale, and the tradeoff to working for either of the two types of companies. But as a new graduate (undergrad) who is looking for software engineering or data science jobs, which would you prefer respectively (or for both roles) and why? Thanks a lot!

e.g. service-oriented: TCS, IBM etc... product-oriented: Google, Microsoft etc...
